Help for Haiti

I’ve been watching the situation in Haiti for the past several days, wondering if there was anything I could do to help. So I did some research and donated money. There are many wonderful organizations working to get help to the Haitian people, and I encourage others to do the same. If you have your own blog or web site, please also encourage others to do the same.
Here are just some of the organizations I found in my research:
- Doctors Without Borders – An international medical humanitarian organization created by doctors and journalists in France in 1971.
- Shelterbox USA – The organization delivers boxes of supplies to disaster areas. Each box supplies an extended family of up to 10 people with a tent and essential equipment to use while they are displaced or homeless. In the USA, Shelterbox is sponsored by Rotary International and funded by donations.
- American Red Cross – The American Red Cross is sending money, supplies and staff to Haiti to support relief efforts there. Donate online or text “Haiti” to 9-0-9-9-9 to donate $10. Text message donations will appear on customers’ next mobile phone bill. Most carriers are waiving the cost of the actual text message.
- Clinton Bush Haiti Relief Fund – Donate online or text the word “QUAKE” to 20222 to donate $10 to the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund, charged to your cell phone bill.
