The second miraculous catch of fish is also called the miraculous catch of 153 fish, and seems to recall the first catch. Peter and andrew were fishermen from bethsaida, a fishing village (bethsaida means “house of fishing”) on the northeastern shore of the sea of galilee.

Jesus and peter fishing. When he had finished teaching, jesus said to peter, put the boat further out into the deep water and let down your nets to catch some fish. we've been fishing all night long and haven't caught a thing, but if you say so, we will let down the nets one more time, peter answered. He figuratively catches peter in his net before commanding him to catch men for the kingdom of god. Night is the best time for catching fish.
Immediately, peter, andrew, james, and john leave their boats and nets behind and follow him. “c’mon, i’ll make you a fisher of. Instead, jesus invited peter to come with him.
Simon peter said to them, i am going fishing. they said to him, we will go with you. they went out and got into the boat, but that night they caught nothing. when peter announced that he was going fishing, they decided to go with him. Hen jesus began to teach the people by the river jordan, a few young men came to him as followers, or disciples. After eating with jesus, peter has a conversation with jesus, and jesus asks peter to feed jesus' sheep.
Some time after jesus appeared to the apostles, peter decided to go fishing in the sea of galilee. Peter drags the net full of fish to shore. He and his coworkers caught more fish than their nets or boats could hold!
The first time we hear about peter in the book of matthew, the story tells us he is fishing. They drop their nets and follow jesus. Luke tells us how such acts of faith are richly rewarded.
Yet after fishing the whole night, the disciples caught nothing. Some of these men were andrew and john, peter and philip and nathanael. Simon peter said to them, i am going fishing. they said to him, we will also come with you.
Discouraged peter confessed to jesus, “master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing:  it happened this way: It was full of large fish, 153, but even with so many, the net was not torn.
Along with his brother they are throwing their net into the lake, and jesus calls them to follow him and he will make them fishers of men. Thomas, james, john, and some other disciples went with him. While jesus was teaching near jerusalem and in samaria, these men stayed with jesus;
And so they would've naturally felt disappointed. Jesus of course was known as a carpenter’s son who grew up in nazareth, a town about a day’s walk up into the steep hills that separated the galilee from the plains of megiddo to the west. Jesus needed a better pulpit, so he climbed into simon’s boat and asked, “simon, can you let me sit in your boat while i talk to these folks?
2 simon peter, thomas (also known as didymus ), nathanael from cana in galilee, the sons of zebedee, and two other disciples were together. And it’s all because of the time when jesus said, “come follow me” peter responded with, “yes, i will.” In other words, jesus wants peter to nurture and take care of fellow christian believers.
And jesus, walking by the sea of galilee, saw two brethren, simon called peter, and andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: Jesus happened to be preaching along the shoreline just where peter and his friends were working. Simon peter had gone back to fishing, but he found that nothing in the entire world compared to being with jesus.
Overcome, peter knew jesus was special and fell to his knees before him. Not even a little bit. As you may know, some of the disciples were fisherman.
And simon peter became one of the greatest fishers of men the world has ever seen. Nevertheless at thy word i will let down the net” (luke 5:5). Peter, who had doubted jesus and mocked him when he said to let down the nets.
Jesus sat in the boat teaching the people. Besides, who knows best about fishing. 15 when they had finished breakfast, jesus asked simon peter, “simon, son of john, do you love me more than these?”
Jesus said to them, 'come and have breakfast.' none of the disciples dared ask him, 'who are you?' they knew it was the lord. 3 “i’m going out to fish,” simon peter told them, and they said, “we’ll go with you. 14 this was now the third time that jesus revealed himself to the disciples after he had been raised from the dead.
Some of jesus' disciples had been fishermen before becoming his disciples. 21 afterward jesus appeared again to his disciples, by the sea of galilee. The activities below will help children better understand this event in peter’s life—and the fact.

But when simon peter saw that, he fell down at jesus' feet, saying, go away from me lord, for i am a sinful man! for amazement had seized him and all his companions because of the catch of fish which they had taken; But when he came to galilee, they went to their homes and work, for most of them were fishermen from the sea of galilee.
But luke adds more detail, painting a picture of peter and jesus having a sincere moment. The crowds pressed in on jesus, making it difficult for people in the back to see or hear. Matthew and mark’s accounts are an almost identical telling of when jesus approached their fishing boats.
Jesus, powerful as he is, allowed peter and the others to catch fish, even at a time when lamps wouldn't be useful in luring fish. Remember, when jesus christ had first called brothers peter and andrew and brothers james and john, fishermen, they had just fished all night and caught nothing. Through this conversation, jesus lets peter know that he loves peter, despite peter's betrayal of jesus earlier. And more than that, jesus told him to come with him. Jesus said to them, 'bring some of the fish you have just caught.' so simon peter climbed back into the boat and dragged the net ashore.
He made one more attempt in obedience to jesus. Peter, who didn’t deserve to be near jesus at all. Jesus takes the opportunity of this miracle to call his disciples into a teacher—student relationship with him.
Fishermen know that fishing has to be done at night, so fish can be drawn to lamps. All night long they fished but did not catch anything. 13 jesus took the bread, gave it to them, and did the same with the fish.
